Al-Quds Bard Partnership

Established in August, 2008, the Al-Quds Bard Partnership is the College’s most ambitious joint venture to date.  It includes three components: The Honors College for Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program, and the Model School.  The Honors College and MAT Program will offer dual degrees from Bard and Al-Quds and will open in fall 2009.  The Model School will open in fall 2010.

The Honors College and MAT Program are designed to realize the principles and practices of liberal arts education.  They seek to educate the whole person, encourage critical thinking and open minds, and provide broad knowledge of diverse disciplines along with in-depth knowledge in the student's chosen fields.  Al-Quds University and Bard College share responsibility for The Honors College and MAT Program, collaborating on curricular and faculty development, recruitment, and governance.
