Bard undergraduates study in nearly 50 countries each year.
Bard students who wish to study abroad for a semester, academic year, or summer are encouraged to seek out programs that allow them to attend classes within foreign universities, as opposed to those offering courses attended solely by Americans. Bard offers such integrated programs at universities in Berlin, Germany, and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan through Bard Abroad. The College also participates in several exchanges, consortiums, and other special programs that can facilitate study abroad.

NOTE: You cannot submit a Petition for Study Abroad before meeting 1:1 with Trish Fleming ([email protected]).4. Explore Financial Aid and Funding Options
Bard financial assistance only transfers to Bard students participating in a Bard Abroad program or Tuition Exchange. Tuition remission exchange packages do not automatically transfer to study abroad opportunities. Students should consult with the Office of Student Financial Services to determine the exact terms and conditions of their aid package.
Students participating in a study abroad program through another U.S. or foreign institution will not receive any Bard-based aid. However, state and federal funding—such as TAP, Pell, Perkins, and Stafford Loans—may be transferable. Students should also inquire directly with the sponsoring institution about the availability of aid.Study Abroad Programs for Bard Students
